After getting through approximately 1/3 of the posted schedule, OPS FC has seen 114 players playing their guts out for a roster spot in their respective age groups. When asked about his expectations for the new competitive program being offered under Wenatchee Valley United, OPS FC Technical Director Mike Osborn had this to say, "When we announced that we'd be having tryouts, we really had no idea what to expect. It's been exciting to see the enthusiastic response and number of new players looking for opportunities to train and play competitively. Just as overwhelming has been the feedback and pledge of support from parents and former players."
Although Osborn is reluctant to say what he thinks the final player and team count will be when tryouts conclude, it's more than obvious that the collaborative efforts to bring the soccer community together by providing a broader spectrum of opportunities for youth players has sparked significant interest in the soccer community.
OPS FC is an affiliate youth partner of Sounders FC Academy through Central Washington Sounders - identifying, evaluating and developing soccer talent in Central and North Central Washington. OPS FC offers developmental and competitive training and playing opportunities for boys and girls born in 2008 and earlier.
